Target Market

The target market is teenager and young adults. This is the age group most likely to be interested in our film as it will include comedic references that they will understand and will have a plot that appeals to their interests. Also they will be around the same age as our characters and so will be able to relate.

Regarding the gender that our film will most attract. I believe that it will appeal to more of a male audience as it will include action and due to the fact both main characters are male.

When creating our film opening we must consider what will attract our target audience and think about ways to also make it inclusive for other viewers.

Falling into lake	High Impact - It could cause injury and the actor could get too cold.	Make sure to stay away from the edge of the lake and make sure to move sensibly.	Have warm clothing nearby and make sure if medical attention is needed then contact parents and first aider.
Trees	Low Impact - Cameraman could walk into a tree and so cause harm to themselves or the equipment.	Make sure to have people near to the cameraman and make sure that there are people nearby to stop from happening.	Make sure if an injuries occur parents are contacted an first aider is nearby.
Falling from bush	Low Impact - Could get a small injury and the sticks could cause injury.	Make sure to be careful when the actors are playing the scene.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.
Tripping	High Impact - Injury could occur to the actors.	Make sure the actors footwear is suitable and when running make sure to be sensible.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.
Cars	High Impact - When on roads and crossing them actors and cameraman could get hit by a car. Also when sliding over car injury could occur.	Make sure to be sensible and when on roads make sure more than one person is there for extra eyes.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.
Drone	Low Impact - The drone could lose battery and fall down onto someone.	Make sure the battery is fully charged, and try to do it on a day with little public nearby.	If an injury occurs contact a first aider.
Cameraman stepped on when filming	Low Impact - Easy to avoid	Make sure cameraman is not in the way and actors know where to run	If an injury occurs contact parents and/or a first aider.
Running into boulder	Low Impact - The actor could be injured if hit by boulder hard.	Make sure actors are carful and aware of what they have to do.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.
Walking Public	Medium Impact - The public may be in the way when shooting and an actor may accidently run into a person from the public.	Try to film on a day when it is less busy and try to use spaces which are clear.	If a certain scene cannot be filmed at that point film something else and come back.
Cameraman could fall off skateboard	Low Impact - The cameraman could fall off the skateboard when filming and could get an injury.	Be mindful and aware of what the cameraman has to do and when filming make sure people are nearby to help.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.
Trolley	High Impact - When inside the trolley the actor could be injured and when trolley tips harm could also occur.	Be careful when actor pushes trolley and have people nearby in case help is needed.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.
Trolley down ramp	High Impact - The trolley could lose control and so when going down ramp injury could occur.	Have a mat at the end so if control was lost no harm would occur and make sure lots of people are nearby to help if its needed.	If an injury occurs contact parents and a first aider.

Second location scout: Sevenoaks

We decided to use Dunton green as our location as it already has the obstacles we desire and we have good pre-existing knowledge of the area. We took a second trip to the location and walked through our opening scene. We have had to amend some of the order of our opening scene such as using a different fence than we had originally planned as it works better with the continuity of the shots. Also we decided to move the cafe scene to later on as it would make more sense being near a main road than in the center of a residential area.

When walking around we took some footage of ideas that we could use for how the trolley could fit into the scene.

Location Scout: Sevenaoks

Tesco
This could be the location from which the trolley originates. It is in close proximity to the other locations meaning it would fit with continuity. There is a large cafe inside which we originally considered for the cafe scene however, Bojangles is in a better position sequence wise and would not be as crowded.

Cafe: Bojangles
It has a large window at the front which would be ideal for the trolley sequence. There is a naturally calm atmosphere inside which is what we wish to accomplish to contrast with the kerfuffle going on outside. The owner has kindly told us that we are welcome to use the cafe to film.

Residential Area
This area is a gold mine of different obstacles that we could use in out opening scene and is away from the main road reducing background noise in our shots. There are a variety of different fences to choose from and one with a perfect gap that would be grate for the fence jumping scene. Next there are two bollards next to the lake which would be good for leap frogging. Finally we found a bush with a gap in the middle that if shot from the correct angle would look solid meanwhile the boys could jump through it.

Railings
Finally we were unsuccessful in finding an appropriately located pole for the boys to slide down as the only railings we found were not at a large enough angle and were located directly outside a bath store and a wine store. We will widen our search however, it would be best for the obstacles to be in closer proximity as possible so it appears to be the same area and is easier to get to on the day of shooting.

Initial opening scene ideas

In our group we took it in turns to present our initial mood boards to each other. From this we created a collection of similar ideas that were within our mood boards. We then used these common ideas to come up with two initial ideas that we could use for our opening scene.

Idea 1

One theme we shared was parkour. We used this to create a lighthearted action film concept that revolved around two main characters. One mature and well versed in the action lifestyle and the other younger and less so. Originally we thought their connection could be father and son however, we decided on their relationship being brothers as we felt this would be a better dynamic.

Idea 2

Our second idea is very different to the first. We based this on the darker themes present in our mood boards. We started with a simply concept of a girl being chased through a wood or other ominous setting and went from there. An issue with this is it is very cliche and so we will have to research and trial ways in which to move away from the stereotypical thriller, or embrace it and use these ideas tastefully.
